Chinese PC maker Chuwi has quietly released an updated version of the Chuwi GemiBook Pro, a thin, light, and affordable notebook with a 2160 x 1440 pixel IPS LCD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and an Intel Celeron processor.

While the previous-gen model had a 13 inch inch screen, the new model steps up to 14 inches. And the updated version also features a newer processor: the Intel Celeron N5100 processor is a 6-watt, quad-core chip based on Intel Jasper Lake architecture, and it should bring better performance than the 10-watt Celeron J4125 Gemini Lake chip used in the older version, while also using less power.

While Chuwi hasn’t updated the GemiBook Pro web page with details for the new model yet, AndroidPC.es spotted a listing for the 2022 version at Amazon’s Spain, which shows a list price of €429, but a sale price of €299 for a model with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of solid state storage.

The 3.3 pound laptop has a metal chassis, a backlit keyboard, a 180-degree hinge and a 38 Wh battery. And the notebook has a microSD card reader for up to 128GB of removable storage (which seems disappointingly limited in 2022), plus USB 3.0 Type-A and USB Type-C ports, a headset jack, and a power jack, although you should also be able to use a USB Type-C charger.

It’s unclear if or when the new GemiBook Pro will be available in other countries.

  1. @Brad Linder a small comparison tablet would be nice, no ?
    It’s a nice update/upgrade.
    13.3″ -> 14″ , J4125 -> N5100, bad keyboard layout -> good keyboard layout

    What the … is looking like a vent grills for fan on the bottom in the render?

    The barrel replaced with usb type-c asap.

    Still Teclast F7 Plus 2 is the best, all around full featured and balanced 14″

  2. Uh it’s available since quite a while now on ali express, personally I own the original gemibook 13″ and gemibook pro 14″ and I’m not interested in the small cpu upgrade as 1- they have 8G of ram instead of the original 12 2- they already have 6+ hours battery which is plenty and 3- It’s still not compatible with all usb-c PD chargers apparently, which really sucks. (Needs a specific voltage, not sure which one anymore). Also, I really wouldn’t recommend those for windows at all but it’s fine on linux with a very lightweight desktop like sway, and ok with a heavier one like cinnamon. Still feels like going back a decade or so when used to a 12 threads ryzen.

  3. The Headphones jack and DC barel jack are in swapped in the two photos that call them out. I think the one with the power port by the USB-C port and headphones by the microsd probably makes more sense.
