Chinese device maker BYD started showing off a 10 inch Windows tablet with an Intel Atom Oak Trail processor last fall. Now it looks like the tablet could be on its way to the US. The BYD T10COTÂ popped up this week at the Federal Communications Commission website.
The tablet features a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor, GMA 600 graphics with support for HD video playback, 1GB of RAM, and a solid state disk (with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options available).
It has a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen display with support for 2-point multitouch, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, and a 52Whr battery. The tablet runs Windows 7 Home Premium, but I imagine it would be able to handle Windows 8 as well.
The BYD T10COT measures 10.4″ x 6.7″ x 0.6″ and weighs 2 pounds.
There’s no word on a release date or price — but I suspect that if the tablets does make it to the US, it will likely be sold under a different brand name.
