AT&T is the first US wireless carrier to offer the LG G Watch to shoppers. Starting July 8th you can order the smartwatch with Google’s Android Gear software from AT&T for $230.
Of course, that’s the same price the watch sells for at Best Buy and the Google Play Store — but there may be at least one reason to get the watch from AT&T: If you buy it at the same time as an LG G3 smartphone the watch will be available for half price.
Both the smartphone and the smartwatch go up for pre-order on July 8th and they’ll be available in stores starting July 11th, 2014.
The LG G Watch features a 1.65 inch, 280 x 280 pixel always-on display, a 400mAh battery, a water and dust-resistant design, and support for standard 22nm watch straps.
It’s also one of the first Android Wear devices designed to show notifications from your phone, let you use Google Now voice commands to search the web, start phone calls, or make appointments, and interact with other third-party apps.
The LG G3, meanwhile, it a 5.5 inch smartphone with a 2560 x 1440 pixel display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, a 3000mAh battery, 13MP rear camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat software, among other features.
I hope this means I can find the watch for $150 on eBay soon lol.
