blue eyeball 2.0Blue Microphones makes a range of decent USB mics for computers. It turns out the company also has a line of webcams, with built-in high quality mics. The company’s latest is the Eyeball 2.0, a 2 megapixel camera that can record HD video with resolutions up to 1600 x 1200.

The whole thing comes in a rather tiny package that you can clamp to the lid of your laptop or monitor and connect to your PC via a USB cable. Most netbooks I’ve used have had mics and webcams that could best be described as serviceable. If you want to step up your game without spending a fortune, the Eyeball 2.0 looks like a good start.

The webcam is available from Amazon for $69.34.
