Apple may have the industry-leading music iTunes music store for its tablets, media players, and smartphones, but Research in Motion has signed a deal with 7digital that will provide BlackBerry PlayBook users to purchase music from the tablet.

7digital offers 13 million songs. They’re be available as 320kbps high quality DRM-free MP3 files.  Prices range from around $0.77 per track to $1.29, with some complete albums going for as low as $5.The music service is available in the US and Europe.

The 7digital app will come preloaded on the BlackBerry PlayBook. The company already offers apps for iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry smartphones.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is RIM’s upcoming tablet with a 7 inch display, a dual core Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor, and a QNX-based operating system. It’s expected to launch in the next month or so.
