Some netbooks, like the Acer Aspire one are available both online and in bricks and mortar stores. Others, like the MSI Wind, are a bit hard to find by walking into your local bix box electronics store. But the Wind is about to jump from one cateogry to the other. Laptop Magazine reports that Best Buy will begin selling a $399 version of the MSI Wind netbook later this month.

The model that will be available in stores will sport a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, a 120GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, Windows XP Home Edition, and a 3 cell battery. It’ll cost $399.

This comes as good news not just for customers who like to be able to walk into a store and make $400 impulse buys, but for prospective netbook buyers who want to run their hands over a demo unit’s keyboard for a few minutes to decide whether they can type on it before plunking down any cash.
