BeBook is best known for cranking out eBook readers… if the company is known at all. But the company is getting into the tablet space with the BeBook Live, a new Android 2.2 tablet due out in June for $279.

The BeBook Live sports a 7 inch capacitive multitouch display and a 1 GHz Samsung ARM Cortex-A processor. It also features 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and a microSD card slot for expansion.

The tablet actually has decent specs for a model saddled with Android 2.2, including a 2MP camera, stereo speakers, a G-sensor, mic, and mini-USB and HDMI ports. The BeBook Live weighs less than a pound and measures a relatively svelte 0.43 inches thick.

Still, I can’t help but hope that by the time the BeBook Live is available on June 21st, that you might be able to find an Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet for a similar price.

  1. 800×600 i believe. The enspert identity tab E201 has been out for a while now … check it out at for $299 if this one above interests you. Looks better and has better specs. Plus is out now!

  2. Annnnd even on their own site they don’t list the pixels of the screen. Is this another 800×600 or 800×480 loser?
