AT&T has been offering cheap netbooks with prices ranging from about $50 to $250 to customers who sign up for long term service plans in limited cities since April. Now AT&T has announced plans to offer similar deals at all of its 2,200 retail outlets throughout the United States, as well as to customer who sign up online through www.att.com.
The netbooks should be available sometime this summer. Each netbook will come with an integrated 3G modem. In order to qualify for the discounted pricing you’ll have to sign up for a 2 year mobile broadband plan, which will run you betwen $40 and $60 a month.
AT&T has been offering Acer Aspire One, Dell Inspiron Mini 9, LG X110, and Dell Inspiron Mini 12 mini-notebooks in the test markets. No word on whether the company plans to add any models to the lineup for the summer launch.
