The Asus Zenbook UX305 line of notebooks are thin, light, and relatively affordable. Asus began offering its first models with 6th-gen Intel “Skylake” processors in late 2015. But if you’ve been holding out for a version with a more powerful chip, now you can buy a Zenbook UX305UA with a Core i5 Skylake chip for $750.
For that price you get a notebook with a 13.3 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS anti-glare display, a Core i5-6200U processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256Gb of solid state storage.
The notebook weighs about 2.9 pounds, measures about 0.6 inches thick, and features 802.11ac WiFI, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and a micro HDMI port.
The Zenbook UX305CA line lacks a few of the features you’ll find on more expensive ultrabooks, such as backlit keyboards.
Don’t need a Core i5 chip? The Microsoft Store is currently selling a Zenbook UX305CA model with a Core M3-6Y30 processor for $599, and a Core M3 version with a 3200 x 1800 pixel touchscreen display for $699.
