The new Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED is a compact notebook that measures 14.9mm (0.6 inches) thick and which weighs 1 kilogram (about 2.2 pounds). But it packs a lot of features into that svelte chassis.

As the name suggests, the notebook sports an OLED touchscreen display. Specifically, it’s a 13.3 inch, 2880 x 1800 pixel display panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Pantone validation, and up to 550 nits brightness.

Under the hood, the notebook features up to 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory and up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid state storage plus support for up to an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor and up to Radeon 680M graphics.

While the laptop doesn’t have any full-sized HDMI, DisplayPort, or Ethernet jacks, there’s a 3.5mm headset jack and three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports that can be used for power, data, or video, among other things. There’s also support for WiFi 6E. The Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED is powered by a 67 Wh battery.,

The laptop has a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis designed to balance durability and light weight, a 180-degree hinge that allows you to tilt the screen all the way back, an Asus Number Pad which lets you use the touchpad as a numeric keypad with numbers that light up when you need them and hide when they don’t, and the notebook comes in blue, green, white, and beige color options.

  1. No USB4, never mind Thunderbolt 3, even though the APU is fully capable.

  2. Very nice, though I expect this will cost more than is justified by most people due to the OLED screen.

    1. I’ve been surprised at how OLED screens are showing up in lower and lower priced devices rapidly this year. Though, yeah, with those specs (top end processors) this one will likely be pretty pricey.
