The new Asus X line of notebooks are reasonably thin and light laptops that aren’t technically ultrabooks because they’re a little too thick and they ship with hard drives instead of solid state storage. They’re also cheaper than ultrabooks.

Asus recently unveiled the Asus X201 with an 11.6 inch laptop, and earlier this summer, the company introduced several larger models.

These laptops aren’t available in the US yet, but if you’re in Italy or Germany, it looks like you can pick up the Asus X301 13.3 inch notebook.

Asus X301

The Asus X301 features a 13.3 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. It’s available with an Intel Pentium B960 or Intel Core i3-2370m processor.

The laptop features 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, VGA and HDMI output, 1 USB 3.0 port, and 1 USB 2.0 port. It also has an Ethernet jack and SD card slot.

It measures 13″ x 8.9″ x 1.2″ and weighs 4.4 pounds.

Prices in Europe seem to range from €429 to €580 (which is about $540 to $730 US), but the laptop will likely be cheaper if and when it goes on sale in the US.
