A few days ago Asus posted a teaser for a new tablet that it will unveil at Computex in Taiwan next week. Today it’s a new Eee PC.
The company is only showing a silhouette and promising the laptop will be “the next evolution of the Eee PC,” but the new laptop appears to be much slimmer than any Asus netbook on the market today. The folks at Notebook Italia discovered a photo with more details which appears to confirm that the new Eee PC could be the thinnest to date.
There’s still a vent in the side of the laptop, so my guess is that this won’t be a fanless system with an ARM-based chip, but rather a typical netbook with an Intel Atom processor. But that doesn’t mean it will necessarily be a Windows laptop. The computer could be designed to run Chrome OS, MeeGo Linux or Android. Or maybe it’s just another Windows 7 netbook with a slight cosmetic refresh. We’ll find out for certain next week.
