We’ve known for a while that Asus is working on multiple tablet devices, but if the information DigiTimes is reporting is correct, we had no idea just how many tablets Asus had in the works. That’s a reasonably sized “if.” The site does have a history of misquoting company execs or presenting rumors as fact. Still, DigiTimes says it’s obtained information about the Asus tablet roadmap direct from Asus President Jerry Shen.

So here’s the skinny. The company is reportedly working on a number of different devices with screen sizes ranging from 7 to 12 inches. They’ll hit the streets between December and March, and some will have ARM-based chips and run Google Android or Windows Embedded 7 while others will have x86 chips and run Windows.

The company is reportedly working on two 7 inch models: One with WiFi and the other with 3G and phone capabilities. Both would likely have low power ARM-based chips. They’re both slated for a March, 2011 launch.

In the 9 inch space, it looks like there will be at least two models. One will have an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip and run Google Android. The other will have an Intel x86 processor and run Windows. Final pricing hasn’t been set, but the Windows tablet is expected to run about $100 more than the Tegra-based version.

Aside from those four tablets, Asus has also already shown off 10 and 12 inch machines running Android and Windows 7.
