If you’ve been following the Liliputing Deals section, you may have noticed that various Asus Eee PC 701, 900, and 901 have become staples over the past few weeks. You can often find these netbooks for under $200. Sometimes they’re new; sometimes refurbished. But the point is that these computers which were first introduced just a year or two ago are now going for less than half the original retail price in many cases.
And it looks like that trend is likely to continue… at least while supplies last. DigiTimes reports that Asus has been reducing prices for its 7 inch and 8.9 inch Eee PC models in Taiwan and China. You can pick up an Asus Eee PC 701 in Taiwan for the equivalent of about $150, while an 8.9 inch model is going for about $220 in China. If these price drops are indeed new, then we might start seeing even better deals in the US soon.

Just don’t bother with the plain pre-Atom 900… it sucked when it was new, sucks even more now – mine is 1 year old today…
I don’t need another netbook but **** they are making it tough not to buy another.
@Pauli
Don’t forget about the 904HA
i’d prefer to. what’s the point in a 10″ netbook with a 9″ screen?
come on, cheap 900ha. come on, cheap 900ha.
The 7 inch is already at $149.99 after instant rebate at Toys-R-Us. It’ll be interesting if the 9 inch follows suit and has a $100 instant rebate once the 7’s are gone.
