Asus Eee PC S101 pinkThinking about picking up an Asus Eee PC S101, but don’t like the looks of the brown, black, or “champagne” models Asus already offers?  How about a pink model?

Asus has launched a pink version of the Eee PC S101 in Japan. It looks like the keyboard, screen bezel, and bottom of the unit are actually black, while the cove, touchpad, and wrist area are pink. No word on whethr this version will be available outside of Japan anytime soon. It looks like this may be a limited edition netbook, available as a part of a contest, but I’m having a bit of trouble decipering the Google translations.

Update: It’s not a limited edition, and the contest is apparently for a case and some accessories, not the netbook itself. Thanks Portablemonkey!

  1. Be still, my heart! I’ve been waiting for the S101 to be available in pink, and now, apparently, it is. But why only Japan?

  2. What is with the pink tech stuff? Don’t these people check the regular outlets and realize from netbooks to digital cameras that pink models are weak sellers and end up being heavily discounted to make them go away? My God, whats next, a pink uniform in the NFL? Why not try flames or fuzzy dice next.

    Sorry for the rant.

    1. Some of us girls LIKE pink tech stuff. Just because we’re geeks doesn’t mean we want everything to be boring black.

  3. The competition is for people who have bought the pink model. You have a chance to win some decoration tools for it and a pink case. (yar, pretty lame). It’s also not a limited edition.
