Asus has introduced a new version of the Eee PC T101MT convertible tablet. This 10 inch netbook with a touchscreen display that allows you to use the computer in slate mode has been around almost a year. But at launch it featured a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 single core processor. The new version of the Eee PC T101MT will come with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core chip.

The rest of the specs are largely the same, with the laptop supporting up to 2GB of RAM, and 320GB of disk space. The convertible tablet will come with 4 and 6 cell battery options. The new model was unveiled at an event in Italy, where Asus says the computer will be available in mid-April for about 499 Euros.

The Eee PC T101MT will run Windows 7 Home Premium in Italy — but while last year’s model was available with Windows 7 Home Premium in Europe, it shipped with Windows 7 Starter Edition in the US. There’s no word on whether the new model will be available in the US or what OS it would run if and when it comes to the States.

Some retailers are already starting to show listings for the new model. Lamda-Tek is charging £451.93 (including VAT) for the Eee PC T101MT with an Atom N570 processor in the UK.

  1. Since December Amazon has an updated version of the T101MT in 2 flavors: T101MT-BU27-BK and T101MT-EU27-BK. Booth has an Atom N455 CPU, DDR3 memory and an updated 250GB Hard Disk. It appears that the T101MT is the favorite of asus in the Eee PC line.

  2. Can’t wait for one of these Atom style convertibles to come with an
dual core AMD Fusion. With luck, they’d be priced similarly to an
    Atom N570 equipped one.

  3. I wonder if it’s possible to upgrade the N450 to a N570… I would upgrade mine… 🙂

    1. Possible but too complicated, chip is soldered so you’ll need special equipment and probably will need to customize the BIOS. So it’ll be an extremely advance mod outside the range of the abilities and resources of most people.

      1. Thanks. After my comment, I googled it and came to the same conclusion… 🙁

        1. I am open to swapping the MB, but I don’t know where to get the new MB.
