As expected, US customers can now purchase the Eee PC 900.

Amazon has both the Linux and Windows XP models in stock for $549.99. The Windows version packs 12GB of solid state memory, 1GB of RAM, and an 8.9 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display. The Linux version is pretty much identical, but ships with 20GB of solid state memory and a custom version of the Xandros Linux operating system.

Update: You can also pick up an Eee PC 900 from Buy.com, Newegg, or ZipZoomFly. Despite reports earlier today that some of these stores were charging as much as $600, almost every unit is now available for the standard $549.99. For some reason Buy.com is still charging $565.99 for the Linux model, but the Windows version is selling for $549.99. If you’ve found other places selling the Eee PC 900 let us know in the comments, and let us know if you’ve found any great deals on shipping.
