Online retailer ZipZoomfly is offering a $20 instant rebate on pre-orders of the Asus Eee PC 1008HA, bringing the price down to $409.99. That’s the same deal Newegg appeared poised to offer last week, but Newegg removed all order information from its product pages for this netbook.

ZipZoomfly says the netbook has an estimated delivery date of May 26, 2009. The Eee PC 1008HA will be the thinnest and lightest 10 inch netbook in the Asus Eee PC family, measuring just 10.3″ x 7″ x 1″ and weighing 2.4 pounds.

Update: The Eee PC 1008HA is also available for pre-order from Amazon $409.99 black or white.

  1. This is very tempting…

I like my 1000HE a lot, but shaving an extra pound would be very welcome. I haven’t been carrying it in my purse as I did with my Aspire One, as it’s just to gosh darned heavy.

    Very tempting indeed…

    1. Plus, you lose the weight in your purse of all that money you are carrying around. 😉

    1. Damn, that’s a pretty decent deal, really has me thinking about getting one. I think I’m going to wait for the X-Slim X340 instead though and just go ahead and get a full replacement for my Dell, since it has a pretty good processor and is a decent size, and just have one computer that I can do whatever with and lug around instead of having two computers. Guess I’ll be out of the Liliputer bandwagon then tho : (

      1. Well, I don’t know now. The X-Slim recently got blasted in one of the reviews that it received recently. Looks like they stuck the shi**y Sentelic touchpad into it, which I am really quite pissed about. If anyone has had a Wind like I have you’ll remember that fiasco, and you know that the things really sucks. Looks like they still don’t include the drivers. WTH, you think they would learn their lesson from the backlash they received when they did it to the Wind. And it also looks like the keyboard is horrific.

So, looks like I’ll take a back seat from getting a new computer and see how everything shakes out before I pull the trigger. And seeing how fast new models are released, there will probably be something better out by then or they might fix the issues.
