Asus, like pretty much every other netbook maker around, is preparing to launch new models based around the upcoming Intel Atom Pineview processor. And Eee PC.it dug up a few product listings for updated versions of the Eee PC 1005HA at online retailer LambdaTek.
The new Eee PC 1005P will apparently have a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and Windows 7 Starter Edition. The slightly higher priced Eee PC 1005PE will have a higher capacity 250GB hard drive and Bluetooth.
The Eee PC 1005P retails for ÂŁ211.26 in Britain. That’s about $345 US. The Eee PC 1005PE is going for ÂŁ235.08 ($382 US).
Of course neither is actually in stock yet. Expect availability sometime in January at the earliest.
Update: Netbook News.de got their hands on some of the first photos of the new model. They look a lot like the current generation Asus Eee PC 1005 computers, except they have textured patterns on the lid. You can check out a few photos after the break, and you can find more at Netbook News.de.
not substantially faster, but it has a substantially longer battery
Is the N450 substatially faster than the N280? Or it is very slight?
