The Asus Eee PC 1000HG is a mini-laptop with a 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. So what sets it apart from the Eee PC 1000H? Integrated WiMAX. In addition to the usual 802.11b/g/n, the Eee PC 1000HG supports 802.16e and WAVE2 wireless connectivity.
Earlier this month, the Eee PC 1000HG went on sale in Taiwan. And it was on display at CES. But Asus hasn’t really talked about the new Eee PC until this week when it mentioned the netbook in a press release about Windows 7 and mobile broadband.
It’s not clear how much this netbook will cost, or where it will be available. Asus has a habit of releasing some models in Europe or Taiwan that aren’t available in the US.
