Amazon has been taking preorders for the Asus Eee PC 1000HE netbook for the past few weeks. Yeterday the company shipped the first batch of orders. The retailer is charging $374 for the laptop
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE is the successor to the Eee PC 1000H. Like its predecessor, the new computer has a 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Bluetooth, and 802.11b/g/n and runs Windows XP. The new model also has a shiny new 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU and a higher capacity battery that Asus says is good for up to 9.5 hours.
