Asus is apparently poised to launch yet another laptop in its never-ending line of Eee PC models. The Asus Eee PC 1000HA, now available for preorder at Amazon in black and white
versions, looks a lot like the Asus Eee PC 1000H on paper. It’s got a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 6 cell battery. But it also has twice the storage capacity, thanks to a 160GB hard drive, and costs about $20 less, at just $430
.
As you’ve probably guessed, Asus had to cut a few corners to keep the price down. According to the Amazon listing, the Eee PC 1000HA does not have built-in 802.11n or Bluetooth support, both of which are featured in the 1000H. But if those features aren’t important to you, this looks like one heck of a bargain.

Maybe it’s a good thing that Asus changed wireless adapters. The new g adapter may be faster. According to laptopmag.com, in their tests, the 1000H’s 802.11n is significantly slower than 802.11g adapters of the Lenovo S10, Acer Aspire One, and MSI Wind:

according to other preorder site (zipzoomfly), ha does not have wireless n and has bluethooth. looks like amazon mislabeled again?
To be fair, Amazon doesn’t say it *doesn’t* have Bluetooth. It just doesn’t
list it. I’ll amend the post though. Thanks for catching this!
Actually, the ZipZoomFly page now says it doesn’t have Bluetooth. The Newegg and Amazon pages don’t list Bluetooth, so I’m going to go with no.
which page did you see from zipzoomfly? this is the one i saw,
https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10009407&prodlist=celebros
same with black one, both list bluethooth.

yeah….i guess will need to wait for someone who actually got it to confirm.
Ahh, I should have double checked the first time you posted this. If you
click in the specifications it says “Bluetooth: No.” But under main
description it says Bluetooth and 802.11b/g. I’m going to assume this model
has no Bluetooth until proven otherwise. I just can’t imagine why else Asus
would sell it for $50 less than the 1000H. 802.11n isn’t really enough to
distinguish the two machines.
Ah, thanks for pointing out the difference. My 1000h just shipped from Amazon yesterday and then I saw the article at eeepc.net I didn’t notice any apparent difference and was contemplating my next move. I think I’ll stick with the h. I also wonder if they’ll downgrade the cam on the ha?
