As I reported earlier this week, the Asus Eee PC 1000 and Eee PC 1000H are now on sale in Taiwan. So the folks over at TweakTown wandered over to a store and picked themselves up an Eee PC 1000H and shot a little unboxing video.
As you can see in the video, the Taiwanese version comes with a localized version of Windows XP. In other words, many of the menus and text areas are in Chinese, which isn’t surprising. But like earlier versions of the Eee PC, Asus includes a Windows XP driver disc in the box, even if you buy a version running Windows XP. That means you can easily install an English version of Windows yourself if you’re so inclined. It may also be possible to change the language manually, but I’ve never tried doing that myself. If you’ve got any tips for converting a Chinese version of Windows to an English version, let us know in the comments.

TweakTown also confirms that the Eee PC 1000H is running Windows XP SP3.
