The Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF300T is a 10 inch Android tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. On paper it looks like a cheaper alternative to the Transformer Prime TF200T, since the new model has a slower processor, less battery life, and a thicker case.

But while Asus hasn’t officially launched the tablet, French retailer Tablette Store has posted a pre-order page for the TF300T, with a 32GB model priced at €499 , or about $654 US. There’s no word on how much a 16GB model might cost.

According to the product listing, the tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel display and a 1 GHz Tegra 3 processor. It will be available in white, blue, or red colors.

Like other members of the Asus Transformer series, the TF300T will have an optional keyboard dock which you can use to type — and to extend the tablet’s battery life.

Asus also plans to launch a Transformer Prime TF700T model this year. That model will have a high resolution 1920 x 1200 pixel display.

  1. @twitter-193313403:disqus  it has given the ipad a tough fight. the ipad 3 is having wifi issues aswell if you are not aware. but the prime was a ipad2 successor and it beats the ipad2 hands down. the transformer infinity will be the true ipad3 competitor. this is just the economy model for people like me who don’t want to get the ipad 2 for $399 and would rather then something better like the TF300T for the same price.

also asus is releasing a FREE dongle to improve the wifi AND gps issues faced by the transformer prime. it should be out shortly to remedy those issues. i currently don’t have the prime but i have to respect a company that gives its customers so much attention.

  2. Of late this promising transformer series from Asus seem to be plagued by wifi, gps & 3G issues. How sad as we thoz it can give the ipads a tough fight. Now, second thoughts
