Last night I noticed that Asus had added drivers to its support site for a new Eee Box nettop called the EB1006. But without a user manual, pictures, or much of any other information, it was hard to tell what set this model apart from the company’s existing nettops. This morning, Netbook Italia noticed that two new Eee Box models (the EB1002 and EB10006) have shown up on the US government’s Energy Star web site.

So here’s what we know. Both will have a 1.66GHz Intel Atom processor, up to 2GB of RAM, and be capable of running Windows XP, Vista or Linux. The EB1002 will have a 250GB hard drive and  integrated graphics, while the EB1006 will have a dedicated video card with 128MB of video memory.

It looks like the primary difference between these models and earlier Eee Box models is the processor. Earlier versions tended to use the 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 processor.

  1. Asus says that they’re cutting back on they number of machines they have out there but everyday it seems like they are adding one or 2 more with slight differences. I just want a 1000hv and a eeebox 208b thats all they should start making
