An unannounced tablet from Archos showed up at the FCC website this week. It’s called the Arnova 90 G3, and while there isn’t much information available, it will likely have a 9 inch display and a low price tag.
French tablet maker Archos tends to sell relatively inexpensive tablets, and the company’s Arnova brand is reserved for the cheapest models.
I did find one product listing for an Arnova 90 G3 tablet at a Spanish retail site. But I kind of hope the specs listed are wrong — because they’re kind of lousy, even for a tablet that could sell for under $100.
According to paratupc, the Arnova 90 G3 features a 9 inch, 800 x 480 pixel display, 4GB of storage, WiFi, and a microSD card slot. It has a front-facing camera and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There’s no mention of the processor, but some of the other members of the Arnova G3 family feature ARM Cortex-A8 chips while a few of the higher-end models have faster Cortex-A9 processors.
I’m not sure I’d buy a phone with an 800 x 480 pixel display in 2013, let alone a tablet.
But if you’re looking for a bargain rather than decent features, paratupc says the Arnova 90 G3 could ship in Spain starting April 8th, 2013.
According to a mediamarkt spain advert it features ARM a9 1ghz, 512mb ram
Let´s chip in and get one of those for Charbax so he can take it with him to all the trade shows.
I already filmed this type of tablet. Sub-$100 retail for 9″ is impressive, I filmed in a factory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtmwlWV_vZM
oooh, factory access.
