French device maker Archos is launching a new line of products aimed at education. That includes 9 and 10 inch tablets with detachable keyboards as well as 11.6 inch and 14 inch notebooks.
The company says each product will have at least 8 hours of battery life to last through a school day and custom software and other features designed for use in school settings.
Archos says its 2-in-1 tablets with 9 inch or 10 inch screens will be available with Android or Windows 8.1 Pro software and each will feature 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The tablets have 2MP rear cameras and 0.3MP front-facing cameras. The 9 inch model will sell for about 200 Euros before taxes, while the 10 inch model will be priced at 250 Euros.
The company also has an 11.6 inch Chromebook in the works which will sell for 250 Euros, and which will also have 2GB of RAM.
Finally, Archos has a 14 inch notebook with 4GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and Windows 8.1 pro software on the way. It’s expected to sell for 300 Euros.
All of the new tablets and notebooks will feature Intel quad-core processors (likely based on Intel’s Bay Trail platform), and each will come with a 2-year warranty.
While Archos tablets, phones, and other products have generally been available through retail channels, all of these new devices are designed for use in the classroom and it’s not clear if the company has any plans to sell them directly to consumers.

Is it a ChromeOS tablet or just a Chromebook?
Just a Chromebook — the larger models are both notebooks.
