The Archos 10 mini-laptop may have just launched, but the company is already planning the netbook’s successor. The upcoming Archos 10s will have most of the features of its (slightly) older brother, including a 10 inch display and a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU. But it will also have a 3.5G modem for connecting to mobile broadband networks.
It looks like the S doesn’t stand for 3G though. Archos says the new machine will be super slim, measuring just 20mm, or about .79 inches thick.
In related news, it looks like Archos is also working on a 9 inch tablet PC that will use an Intel Atom Z5xx processor. While Archos currently has a line of 5 to 7 inch portable media players, this would be the company’s first touchscreen tablet device running a full operating system (presumably Windows, but Linux is also possible). The press release (PDF link) says the tablet will have a virtual keyboard and handwriting recognition software and hard drie options between 60 and 160GB.
