At its new $399 price, the iPad 2 isn’t exactly an Amazon Kindle Fire killer. It still costs twice as much as Amazon’s $199 tablet, even if it is capable of doing much more than the Kindle.
But Apple isn’t stopping at knocking $100 off the price of last year’s tablet. The company is also offering refurbished models for even less money.

You can now pick up a refurbished iPad 2 from the Apple Store for as little as $349.
That’s still not exactly Kindle Fire cheap, but it is $150 less than the starting price for the shiny new iPad — even if you don’t get the shiny new retina display or A5x processor.
What you do get is a decent tablet with a 9.7 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display, a zippyA5 dual core processor, and access to hundreds of thousands of iOS apps. That’s not bad for a $349 device with a one-year warranty, even if it is refurbished.
