Can’t decide whether you want an iPad or an Apple notebook computer? Apple Noir shows you how to have the best (or possibly worst) of both worlds. One guy sacrificed an old school Apple iBook laptop by cutting holes in the case to make room for an iPad, an Apple keyboard, and the iPad Camera Connection kit for connecting the keyboard.

The result is a laptop-style device with a QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen display running the iPhone operating system instead of OS X. The whole thing would probably be a lot more useful if you could actually close the laptop without scratching the screen, but that’s just a minor detail, isn’t it?

  1. You kid Brad, but I’m kinda surprised that something like this hasn’t been made available for sale.

I know plenty of folks who claim to be using iPads w/bluetooth keyboards as laptop replacements. A lightweight carrying case with integrated keyboard might make plenty of sense for when people expect to do a lot of typing.
