While Research in Motion has been pushing the business-friendly features of the company’s upcoming BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, it looks like the Motorola XOOM tablet will have some business/security features of its own. Engadget reports that the Android device hasa n “Encrypt Tablet option tucked away in the settings.
This feature would let you encrypt all the data on the tablet and secure it with a password.
The feature is baked into Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb, so it will like it will be available on other Android tablets as well, and not just the Motorola XOOM.
Update 7/20/2011: Yup, this feature comes standard with most tablets running Google Android 3.0 and higher.
