Amazon’s FreeTime Unlimited service lets you pay a monthly fee for access to a kid-friendly content library of movies, TV shows, eBooks, and apps. Originally the service was only available for Kindle and Fire devices. But now FreeTime Unlimited is available for just about any device running Android 5.0 or later.

You can download the app from the Google Play Store and sign up for a 1-month free trial before deciding whether to spend any money on a subscription.

A plan runs $2.99 per month for Amazon Prime members, $4.99 for non-members, or $6.99 (Prime)/$9.99 (non-Prime) for a family plan that lets up to four kids use the service on their own devices.

Among other things, FreeTime Unlimited includes a web browser designed to help keep kids from viewing inappropriate content, a pre-screened list of 40,000 YouTube videos, and more than 10,000 books and videos.

While the service has “unlimited” in the name, one of the key selling points is actually that it lets parents set limits. You can decide how much time kids can spend watching videos every day, for example, while allowing unlimited reading time (or vice versa if that’s what you really want). Parents can also adjust the web browser filters depending on what content they want to try to protect their kids from.

Of course, if your kid is bright enough, good luck preventing them from exiting the app and just firing up a phone or tablet’s unrestricted web browser.
