Alcatel OneTouch will begin selling a 6 inch smartphone with a full HD display and a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor this month.
The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2 is a big phone with a big 3100mAh battery, and it comes with a digital pen. In other words, like many big screen phones on the market, it seems to take at least a little inspiration from Samsung’s popular Galaxy Note line of smartphones.
IDC predicts that 175 million phones with screens between 5.5 and 7 inches will ship this year, so while I’ve never been a fan of the “phablet” name, it seems like whatever you call them, big phones like the OneTouch Hero 2 are big business.
This model seems to have decent specs including a 13.1MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD card reader, 802.11n WiFi, 4G LTE supports, and Google Android 4.4.
