Adobe has launched Flash Player 10.2 for Windows, Mac, and Linux and the new version of Flash features improved hardware acceleration, improved font rendering, and support for full-screen video on computers with multiple monitors.
That multiple display feature doesn’t means video stretches across all your monitors. Instead, it means you can finally watch video in full-screen mode on one display while working on another. Earlier versions of Flash didn’t do that. You could maximize a video, but as soon as you clicked anywhere in another display, the video shrunk back to windowed mode.
The hardware acceleration features are pretty exciting too. Flash supports GPU acceleration in Internet Explorer 9.
The update also adds hardware acceleration support for AMD’s new Fusion chips including the C-30, C-50, and E-350 chips with AMD Radeon HD graphics. That means you should be able to watch HD Flash video on new computers such as the Acer Aspire One 522 and HP Pavilion DM1z without taxing the CPU.
