Acer is updating its thin and light Swift 7 notebook. The 2018 edition is still a ridiculously slim notebook with an Intel Kaby Lake-Y processor. But the new model has an all-black aluminum unibody chassis, integrated 4G LTE, and a 14 inch touchscreen display.
The Acer Swift 7 SF714-51 should be available in April for $1699 and up.
The notebook measures just 9mm (about 0.35 inches) thick) and thanks to slimmer bezels, it packs a 14 inch display into a laptop that’s about the same size as last year’s 13.3 inch model.
Acer says it’s also improved the battery life, from up to 9 hours on last year’s model to up to 10 hours on the new version, while using the same Intel Core i7-7Y75 processor that powered the top-of-the-line 2017 version.
The fingerprint sensor to the left of the keyboard is also new.
Unfortunately those upgrades seem to come with a price hike. If you don’t want to spend $1699, you can still pick up a 13.3 inch Acer Swift 7 for around $1000 and up. If you don’t need the integrated LTE modem, that does seem like a better deal.
