Acer is offering a new 2-in-1 Windows tablet with a 10 inch display and a detachable keyboard. It’s called the Acer One, and it’s available in India for about $325 and up.

The new tablet looks a little bit like the Acer Aspire Switch 10. Both are 10 inch tablets with detachable keyboard docks, and both allow you to position the screen so that it faces the keyboard or faces away.

But the Indian model has a slightly different design and feature set.

The tablet is powered by an Intel Atom Z3735F processor and features 32GB of solid state storage plus a 500GB hard drive in the keyboard dock. Acer offers an entry-level model with 1GB of RAM, but the company also plans to offer a 2GB version in the future.

Acer’s new laptop has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, a 2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and two USB 2.0 ports. It has a 6,000mAh battery.

There’s no word on whether Acer has any plans to offer the Acer One outside of India anytime soon.

  1. I like the way it looks, otherwise a huge letdown, both in performance and price. India is a developing market, I cannot see how they plan to succeed there with such prices. Also India is a lot closer to China if they want a cheap Win tablet…

    1. The prices here in India are about 10 – 30% MORE than the US. Infact, couple of years ago folks found it cheaper to go to Singapore to buy an LED TV than buy it here itself.

Most of the Models (TV, Mobiles, Laptops, etc.) are 6-12 months late, higher priced and less on features (cheaper processor for example) . Our Homegrown (rebranded) Mobile companies have kicked Sam$ung’s a$$ good reducing its market share from >50% to about 10%.

Same is happening for TVs. But there seems to be no way to break the MNC monopoly in the Desktop / Laptop market 🙁
