Acer hasn’t officially announced plans to launch a Windows 8 tablet called the Iconia W3 with an 8.1 inch display and Intel Atom processor. But that’s exactly what showed up briefly on Amazon a few weeks ago before the listing was pulled.

Now the Acer Iconia W3 has shown up at the FCC website, suggesting that it could be available for purchase in the US soon.

The FCC listing doesn’t provide many details, but the label drawing shows stickers confirming that the tablet has an Intel processor and runs Windows 8 software.

The drawings also confirm that the tablet will have a microSD card slot, HDMI output, an 8.1 inch screen, and up to 8 hours of battery life.

According to the Amazon listing, the Iconia W3 will have a 1280 x 800 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor.

It’s expected to weigh about 1.1 pounds, measure about 0.45 inches thick, feature WiFi, Bluetooth, front and rear cameras, and Microsoft Office software.

If that listing was correct, it’ll sell for about $380 when it hits the streets.

  1. What’s with Wintel and the low-rez displays? Can’t get a quality display commitment from the vendor? Can’t figure out how to scale the UI? What?

    1. No, they should have made this instead of the Iconia W510 last Winter and then release the second version with Bay Trail.

    1. I hope some 7″ Clover Trail or Bay Trail tablet comes out with a mouse in the bezel. More useful than an active stylus for non-artists and non-inkers.
