AT&T will begin offering Acer’s 10 inch Android tablet to wireless customers on September 18th. You can buy the tablet outright for $480, or sign up for a 2-year AT&T service contract and walk away with the tablet for $330.
The Acer Iconia Tab A501 features a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, 16GB of storage, and Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. The one thing setting the A501 tablet apart from the Iconia Tab A500 which has been available for a few months is that the new model supports AT&T’s HSPA+ mobile broadband network.
Data plans start at $15 per month for 250MB of data. A much better bargain is the $25 per month plan which nets you 2GB of data. Or you can also pay full price for the tablet and pay for broadband only when you need it.
