Acer Iconia Tab A700

The Acer Iconia Tab A200 may have gone up for order in the UK this week, but it’s not the only new tablet Acer will launch in early 2012. We’ve already seen a few clues that the company was working on an A700 model with a 1080p HD display, and now the folks at Russian site have some more details… and photos.

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 reportedly has a 10.1 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display and a 1.3 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. It has room for a SIM card, which suggests a 3G or 4G option will be available.

Acer’s new tablet also features microHDMI, microUSB, and audio ports, and front and rear cameras. It weighs 1.4 pounds and has a 9800mah battery which is good for up to 10 hours of run time.

While the A700 won’t be the first quad-core tablet on the market (That honor belongs to the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Primer), it may be the first to squeeze a 1080p HD display into a 10.1 inch screen. reports that the Iconia Tab A700 will likely hit the streets in March or April, but we’ll probably see the tablet on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas in January.
