So you’ve got an Acer Aspire One netbook with WiFi, Ethernet, and just about anything you could need to connect to the internet – as long as you’re near a LAN or WiFi hotspot. But what if you want to make your netbook truly mobile. Like connect to a 3G cellular network mobile? Luckily Tnkgrl Mobile has you covered.

She’s already shown us how to add Bluetooth or replace the SSD with a hard drive. But adding a 3G HSDPA modem is a bit mor etricky, because you need to not only attach the modem to a mini-PCIe connector but also figure out how to divert power to it and to a SIM card holder. In other words, this is not a hack recommended for beginners.

  1. Is there any way to power up SIM card all the time even if netbook is turned off ? this way may be, it would be turned into like a spy GPS system

  2. More simple is to hold an Acer Aspire one with native 3G
