Another day, another leaked benchmark result pointing to yet-another upcoming Acer tablet. Hot on the heels of a series of leaks related to 7.9 inch Android tablets with Intel Bay Trail processors, the GFXBench website has details about a model with a MediaTek octa-core CPU.

It’s called the Acer Iconia A5-810, and on paper it has the makings of a pretty interesting device.

The tablet reportedly features a 7.9 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel touchscreen display, a MediaTek MT8392 ARM Cortex-A7 octa-core CPU, and ARM Mali-450 MP4 quad-core graphics.

It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 5MP rear camera, and 2MP front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The Acer Iconia A5-810 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat software.

Acer hasn’t officially announced this tablet… or any of the similarly-sized Intel models we’ve seen in recent days. So it’s possible someone at the company could be running benchmarks on internal sample devices that aren’t ever supposed to see the light of day.

But it’s also possible that Acer plans to launch a whole series of 7.9 inch Android tablets soon, possibly with a variety of price points and a variety of different target markets.

    1. Mid range. Around s400-600. Has to be price around $200 or even lower to have a chance as G Pad 8.3 is on sale quite often for $250.

      1. I doubt Acer will follow the competition, their current 7.9 inch is a 1gig Clover Trail, 1024×768 device sitting at $199. Compare that to Dell Venue 8 with the same chipset, 1200×800 display, and 2gig of ram at $179 that’s frequently on sale for $149.

My guess is this one will be at least $249

        1. The Acer Iconia A1-830 7.9″ Clover Trail+ (don’t confuse with Clover Trail as without the “+” means a Windows device instead of Android) is only $179.99 and not $199…

But you are right that the Dell Venue 8 was the better choice… Besides the specs you listed the Acer is using the lesser Z2560, while the Dell is using the highest end Clover Trail+ Z2580… So on top of the $149 pricing it’s the better deal…

For $249, though, you could get a quad core Bay Trail Android instead or similar higher end ARM SoC like a Tegra 4, etc… So it wouldn’t be good for them if they tried to price it that high…

          1. Oh right, my bad, it’s $199 here in Canada. We get shafted here all the time. Somehow Dell priced the Venues equally in Canada and in the US. I didn’t realize the Venue 8 is actually a better chipset. Good to know my purchase is even that much more worth the value 😀
