A few days ago we found out that Lenovo’s upcoming low cost ultraportable notebook could be available as soon as September. Now it looks like we have a few specs to share. And when I say a few, I mean it.

DigiTimes reports that the laptop will be manufactured by Quanta computers and will come in two models. There will be an 8.9 inch version and a 10.1 inch version. Both will have 160GB hard drives, Intel Atom processors, and cost between $400 and $600. They’ll come in four colors, including white and pink. I’m going to go out on a limb and predict one of the other colors will be black, but the fourth is anyone’s guess. Yellow, blue, green? Who knows.

In other words, the Lenovo netbook sounds a lot like every other netbook, but with a slightly larger hard drive than most. At least on paper. As some readers have pointed out, the difference may all be in the build quality. IBM and Lenovo have a history of making sturdy computers that are built to survive the apocalypse… or at least normal wear and tear. Perhaps we’ll finally see a cheap notebook that can give the HP Mini-Note a run for its money in the area of durability (if not necessarily looks).
