Chinese PC maker One Netbook specialized in tiny laptops, and this year the company has been branching out into a few new niche categories. The OneGx line of computers are designed for gamers. And the company has an new device on the way that’s designed for engineers and IT pros.

It has a 7 inch touchscreen display, full-sized Ethernet and Serial ports, and a hinge that allows the screen to rotate 180 degrees and fold down flat for use in tablet mode.

One Netbook hasn’t given the little PC a name yet, in July the company revealed a few pictures, and now we have a short video that shows the device in action:

Here’s a roundup of recent tech news from around the web.

  1. I wonder if the One Netbook will provide different CPU options and other things to target various price targets. I assume many will see this is as a MicroPC competitor in the $300 – $400 range. For me, I hope to see a higher performing variant (and a proportionately higher price).

Too bad for no built-in LTE option. I would have paid for that for sure.

  2. Definitely interested in more info on the new One Netbook UMPC. Hopefully it has decent specs for a decent price.

  3. I just watched the One Netbook video. It seems some of the OneGX ugliness spilled on to this “IT” machine: red back lit keys. I hope that red color can be changed to something else.

Otherwise, it looks pretty good in matte black.

  4. Will the One Netbook UMPC have built-in LTE? Thinking of replacing my MicroPC with it.

    1. If it has an LTE option, then I’d replace my Surface Go LTE with it. I prefer the smaller footprint and Ethernet port.

        1. Thank you for looking into it. That’s unfortunate. I guess I’ll pass on this UMPC.

        2. That’s a big bummer. Thank you for asking them.

I guess I’ll go ahead and get the “bigger” Surface Go 2 LTE. Not really interested in the port selection. I just want a UMPC with LTE.

          1. I was about to cancel my Surface Go 2 LTE order until Brad confirmed this isn’t going to have an LTE option. Would have been a great mobile PC. I guess MS is going to keep my money.

        3. I guess I’ll keep my MicroPC since I prefer the handheld/thumb use case. I would have given that up if the One Netbook device had LTE though.
