Need a laptop with a big screen, a blazing-fast processor, and a high-power GPU for editing videos, playing games, or compiling code? Then today’s deals probably aren’t for you.

But if you’re looking for an inexpensive, portable computer that you can use for web browsing, document editing, media streaming, and other day-to-day tasks, there are some nice deals on low-cost laptops today.

Amazon is selling a 14 inch convertible tablet-style VivoBook Flip with an Intel Core M3 processor for just $415. Woot has an 11.6 inch HP Stream laptop (that’s basically a glorified web browsing device) for $120. And Best Buy is offering Yoga 720 and Yoga 730 convertibles for about $100 off their list prices.

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. I believe devices like the cheap HP Streambook are a great bargain if you look beyond using it as a Windows laptop. Throw on a copy of Neverware Cloudready and use it as a Chromebook. I’ve already re-purposed a couple of older Windows 8.1 tablets the same way with great results.
