Mesh WiFi router systems are designed to help you cover more ground than a single WiFi router by placing multiple units around your home, office, or other large space. But since you have to buy two or three routers to take advantage of the benefits, the price of a mesh WiFi system is usually a lot higher than the price of a single good router.

Today the gap isn’t as wide as usual though: Walmart is selling a Linksys Velop whole-home WiFi 2-pack of AC1300 WiFi routers for $130, which is one of the best prices I’ve seen for a mesh system to date.

  1. I recently bought a Plume mesh router system, and for the connection to my desktop the speeds are considerably faster than my old AC3200 speed name brand router, which I was not expecting. But for items further away, such as when I’m using my Fire tablet the usability of the devices is much improved. No more waiting for this or waiting for that, or worse, things timing out.
