  1. I’ve stopped using USB flash drives for read/write situations
due to their slow speed vs. SSDs in external enclosures. I
only use USB flash drives for write once, read mostly such
    as for music, movies, audiobooks.

    1. Makes sense but sometimes isn’t economical or on the other hand convenient for different case scenarios. For example, you can either buy a 8GB/16GB fast flash drive OR buy a 8GB/16GB ssd and stick it in a case that you can then plug into a PC/laptop with an extra cable. This isn’t convenient. You can buy a case with usb A 3.x plug, but you’d then be spending ~ $35-$40 for that setup for measly storage. You can buy probably the cheapest SSD flash drive I’ve ever seen, a 128GB Sandisk Extreme Pro, but that’s $75 and you only needed 8GB/16GB so it’s not economical. Depends on purpose I guess.

Sometimes it just makes sense the get the flash drive.

Now, if you’re talking about buying a 128GB flash drive, in that case I’d probably just spend the extra to get the SSD Flash or SSD + USB plug case.
