The Motorola Moto X4 is a solid mid-range phone that offers decent performance, long battery life, and dual cameras that let you snap portrait-mode photos, among other things.

When I reviewed the phone a few months ago, I found a lot to like… but personally decided that the $400 price tag was a bit too high for this hardware when I could spend a little more and trade in my Nexus 5X to get a Google Pixel 2 with a better camera, faster processor, and more RAM, among other things.

But I might have come to a different conclusion if I could have bought  Moto X4 for $250, which is how much Amazon is selling the phone for in a 1-day sale.

The Amazon sale is for a model with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and Amazon Prime Exclusive features (which means Amazon apps including Alexa and Amazon Shopping come pre-installed).

If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, (and don’t want to sign up for a free trial), you can also save some money today by picking up a Moto X4 from Newegg, which is selling the phone for $270 when you use the coupon code EMCSPRRP2.

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. Your carrier, Google, and Apple will tell
you next year that you’ll “need” to replace
your phone because 5G will be out then.
So hold on to your money, that Moto
phone (and all the others) will be selling
for a lot less, including that iPhone X.

Top of the line phone buyers will be feeling
a lot like the original Apple Watch purchasers.

    1. You might be right, but how fast do you really want to blow through your data cap? 4G will already get you a nice picture on a streaming video.

      1. Ah, but there will inevitably be new, sexy applications for all
that speed. Vehicle-to-vehicle communications (V2V) to
retrofit your existing non-self-driving car is a possibility.
Things that haven’t been imagined yet. After all, didn’t
someone say (Bill Gates maybe?) what would people
do with 640 KB of RAM in the early days of PCs?

    2. That’s nonsense. The roll out isn’t even going to begin in earnest until 2020, and 4G will still be around for years after that. People buying $250 Android phones are not early adopters, so whatever hype (and expensive phone plans) there is, will be wasted on them.

      1. I don’t know why you say people buying $250 Android phones are not early adopters. In a way they are the earliest of adopters because they realize that it’s no longer necessary to buy an expensive phone to get decent performance. The vast majority of people buying flagship phones do so out of ignorance from not being current.
