What better way to celebrate the founding fathers than by scoring a good deal on a laptop?

It’s never made a lot of sense to me that Presidents Day is a holiday that’s become associated with sales. But that’s not stopping stores including Best Buy, Dell, and Lenovo from running sales over this long weekend. And who am I to argue with deep discounts on PCs and other gadgets?

  1. I had a refurbished Lenovo Chromebook 13 that was the perfect size, weight and price, and battery life was great too. It worked great until the kids spilled stuff on it and the keyboard quit working. I’d buy another $300 13 inch Chromebook before spending $1000+ on a 13 inch ‘Ultrabook’. 11.6 in screens are just too small and 12.5 inch screens aren’t much better. Why is it so difficult to find 13.3 inch laptops that are reasonably priced? Most 13.3 inch laptops cost at least 2-3 times more than a 15 inch laptop. The manufacturing costs can’t be THAT much higher.
