Microsoft may have just introduced a lower-cost option for the Surface Book 2, but with a $1199 price tag it’s still not exactly cheap.

But if you don’t mind slightly older hardware, you can pick up a 1st-gen Surface Book 2-in-1 laptop for as little as $700 at the moment. That’s how much Rakuten is charging for a model with a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.

A better option may be to spend $900 on a model Newegg is offering though. It has twice as much storage space and includes a performance base that lets you use NVIDIA graphics when the tablet is connected to its keyboard dock.
