Huawei’s latest flagship phone launched in Europe in October, and now the company has announced that the Mate 10 Pro is coming to the United States. It’ll go up for pre-order on February 4th with availability starting February 18th.

But it’ll cost you: the Huawei Mate 10 Pro will sell for $799 and up in the US.

For that price you get a carrier unlocked phone with a 6 inch, 2160 x 1080 pixel AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a Kirin 970 processor with a dedicated neural processing unit and support for 4G LTE speeds up to 1.2 Gbps.

The NPU assists in computer vision and AI tasks. For example, there’s object detection functionality built into the camera app that can help adjust settings depending on what you’re shooting.

The phone also has dual rear cameras with 12MP RGB sensor and a 20MP monochrom sensor, optical image stabilization, and a 2X “hybrid zoom” feature.

The Mate 10 Pro has a 4,000 mAh battery and it ships with Android 8.0 Oreo software.

Huawei will also offer a premium model called the Huawei Mate 10 Pro Porsche Design that will sell for $1225. That model has 256GB of storage, but most of what you’re paying for is the fancy Porsche-style design.

  1. There’s no way in hell average consumer is going to drop $800 on a phone from a brand they barely know. Even Apple and Samsung has to finance their phone with carriers.

  2. I’m staying away from Huawei phones after the issues I’ve had with the Nexus 6P.

  3. According to Android Police it seems first Verizon and now probably AT&T are under pressure from members of the U.S. Senate and House intelligence committees to drop Huawei like a hot potato for fears the devices are allegedly jacked into the Chinese Communist Party and China’s intelligence and security services. * Huawei Mate 10 Pro coming to US for $800 next month, AT&T version nowhere to be found

Geez, if the dang things weren’t so expensive I’d pick up a few of these Huawei spy phone just to feed them strange and wonderful false intelligence 😉

  4. I just want them to bring over the Huawei P10; decent specs, good-sized battery, and most importantly less wide. My current phone is the same width as the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and completely impossible to use one-handedly.
